HELP !!!

Haiti

We are taking donations for this disaster. If you wish to help and want all the money to go to helping these devastated people then please send donations to our secretary listed at the foot of this page.

YOUTH

Young Ambassador

In keeping with Lions Clubs International youth programme, we are looking to find young people who are serving in the community. These young people (up to age 24 years of age) will be doing good work of a charitable nature within the community or overseas. Selection is by interview and the winner will progress to the next round which is at District and then to National and European level. There are substantial financial prizes to assit the candidate with his or her charity. If you know of such a person please contact the Hon Secretary (name and telephne number at the top of the page) who will do the rest. Closing date each year is October 1st.

Please support us on this very worthwhile project.

Inside these pages you will find information about what we do and why and how we could help those less fortunate. Our responsibility is to our local community but we also have a commitment to help internationally.

We hope that you find what you are looking for and trust that the information contained within this site is of use or help. We thank you for taking the trouble to see what our Club and Lions Clubs International is about and if you look through the various pages you will find information on current projects, and some history.

UNDER 28 years of age?

Like what we do and are you interested in doing something similar. We have just the thing for you - it is called 'LEOS'. We were hoping to form a Campus Leos Club at your school for young people from the age of 12 upwards. This is possible but would depend upon you asking permission to do so. Why not try asking at school. Don't worry about cost we will sort that out for you.------------>

If you are interested and wish to know more then contact the Hon Secretary listed opposite.

We serve in our local community by raising funds and helping where we can, in a practical way, those needing help or support. Funds are limited by what we can raise but we also can sometimes help in a physical way. If you know of a needy cause please let us know (to the Hon Secretary Lion Derek White whose telephone number and Email address are listed below) and we will try and assist them.

If you wish to help us but do not wish to commit to ongoing service we are still interested in you. You can become a 'Friend of Lions'.

We need any person willing to give their time and energy for free to help those less fortunate within our society.

We are an open organisation and care deeply about our community. Honesty of purpose and integrity are important as we are dealing with the general public and public monies. We as an organisation are active in Criminal Registration Board (C.R.B.) and suscribe to the new Independant Safeguarding Authority (I.S.A.). We follow a 'Vulnerable Persons' policy which Lions Clubs must adhere to. We are supporters of the Disabled Games and are active in the 'Special Olympics'.

This Club is run by and paid for by its members. The Club is not allowed to take money from the Charity account for running expenses. All monies collected or donated must be spent on charitable causes.

In other words we are;
